Things to know before you start stripping your wire:

• This is a two handed machine, one hand must operate the drill while the other hand feeds the wire.
• The cutting wheel is stiff and difficult to turn by hand, this is normal; this machine is drill powered not finger powered.
• The drill must be hooked to the cutting wheel, but be careful not to bend or break the rod by putting sideways pressure on the rod when using the drill.
• Avoid tightening or loosening any bolts. This will affect the machines workings.
• If you must adjust the “V” wheel, don’t tighten the bold tight, the “V” wheel must be able to turn freely.
• Always turn the wheel slowly at first when putting wire in, and turn it slowly until you get used to the machine.
• Wire can be forced in while turning the drill, or crank the blade up and put the wire in and crank it down until it cuts the plastic.
• All wire must be guided in by hand and watched carefully to avoid it running off the track.
• Big wire may need to be forced in at first while turning the wheel to get it started.
• Be careful not to stick your finger in the cutting wheel while turning the wheel and feeding wire.
• Do not touch the cutting wheel, it is sharp!
• This is a skill machine. It takes time to get good at stripping wire fast.
• Stripping wire is hard work and takes time. You will get dirty!
• Avoid burning up your drill take it slow and don’t run the drill at high speed for a long time.
• For big wire you may need a powerful drill. But a small battery powered drill will work with no problem, that’s what I use.
• Custom wheels are available. We can make one with a sample piece of wire, or a detailed description.
• Yes it will strip aluminum.
• There may be some crevasses that are a little dirty. That’s because those places are hard to get to and buff. So don’t worry about those. Your machine may have pockmarks or other cosmetic defects due to the manufacturing process. These natural defects don’t effect the workings of the machine. Remember this machine does everything that machines costing thousands of dollars do.
• Your machine may look fairly simple but its anything but. It is a very complex and dynamic machine.
